My name is Laura Fensom and I am the Pastoral Support Officer at Woolston 6th Form College.
I am new to the role, having started working with Woolston 6th Form College in May 2024. I have 6 years work experience within the education sector and have worked closely with children and young people with a range of SEND.
As a Pastoral Support Officer, I will be the main liaison for parents/carers within the College and a fundamental responsibility of my role is to meet with service providers in order to ensure that students and their families are being provided the services which they require. I also provide support to students and their families throughout the transition process into adulthood.
It is my aim to ensure that all students are provided equal opportunities to access their education and are provided their education in an environment where they can thrive. In order to achieve this I work closely alongside students, parents and/or carers to ensure that specific, tailored support is provided in a proactive manner.
