Welcome from the College Lead

Welcome to Woolston 6th Form College!

Woolston 6th Form College educates & supports students aged 16–19 who have a range of additional needs, including severe learning difficulties, complex learning difficulties, & profound & multiple learning difficulties.

We offer a 38-week academic year, providing a full timetable Monday-Friday from 8:55am—3:25pm. Our students come from Green Lane School, Fox Wood School, Warrington schools, and some from nearby Local Authorities.

Our vision for college is to nurture & develop students’ potential, preparing them for life & meaningful employment. To do this, we offer a range of accredited courses from Open Awards to help develop functional skills, life skills, and employability skills. All students also participate in creative sessions, fitness sessions, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, all of which incorporate community learning.

A full work experience programme is designed around the interests of students,  and this links with the curriculum to help our students achieve their aims & targets with as much independence as possible.

On a personal note, I am enormously proud to be part of the continued development of our college. It is a privilege to work with all the students, parents, staff, and governors. The success of the college is derived from a very enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff. We have the utmost commitment to providing the highest quality provision for all of our students and work together in a supportive, caring, community atmosphere.

We welcome visits to our college, or if you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at woolstonsixthformcollege@sch.warrington.gov.uk or call us on 01925 811447.
